Viewing Activities

Activity logs are available throughout the platform, making it easy to track what's happening in your workspace from anywhere. This guide will show you how to access and view activities in different locations.

Viewing from Home Page

The Home page displays your most recent workspace activities, giving you a quick overview of what's happening.

How to Access

  1. Navigate to your Home page (the main dashboard)
  2. Scroll down to the Recent Activity section
  3. You'll see the latest 5 activities from your workspace

What You'll See

  • Recent actions: The 5 most recent activities across your entire workspace
  • Auto-refresh: The feed automatically updates every 60 seconds
  • Quick overview: See who did what without leaving the home page
  • Color-coded indicators: Visual cues for different activity types

Activity Information Displayed

Each activity shows:

  • User avatar and name (or "You" for your own actions)
  • Action description (e.g., "Created team 'Development Team'")
  • Workspace and team badges (if applicable)
  • Timestamp (e.g., "2 hours ago")
  • Status indicator (green for success, red for failures)

Viewing Full Activity Log

For comprehensive activity tracking and advanced filtering, use the dedicated Activity page.

How to Access

  1. Click on Activity in the main navigation menu
  2. Or navigate directly to /activity from your browser

What You'll See

The full Activity page includes:

  • Up to 50 activities displayed at once
  • Advanced filtering options for precise searching
  • Search functionality to find specific activities
  • Export capability to download activity data
  • Auto-refresh every 30 seconds

Activity Display Layout

The Activity page shows each activity as a card with:

Left Side:

  • Colored dot indicator (category-specific color)
  • User information
  • Action description
  • Context badges (workspace, team, category)
  • Timestamp

Right Side:

  • Precise date and time
  • Status indicators (success/failed)
  • Additional metadata

Understanding Activity Details

User Information

  • Avatar: Profile picture or initials
  • Name: Full name of the person who performed the action
  • "You" indicator: Your own actions are marked as "You" for easy identification

Action Description

Clear, human-readable descriptions like:

  • "Created workspace 'Marketing Team'"
  • "Added John Doe to team 'Engineering'"
  • "Updated project settings for 'Website Redesign'"

Context Badges

  • Workspace badge (blue): Shows which workspace
  • Team badge (purple outline): Shows which team
  • Category badge (default): Shows activity type (e.g., TEAM, WORKSPACE)
  • Status badge (red): "Failed" indicator for unsuccessful actions

Timestamps

  • Relative time: "2 hours ago", "3 days ago"
  • Exact time: Hover over timestamp for precise date/time
  • Timezone: Times displayed in your local timezone

Viewing Team Activities

See activities specific to a particular team from the team pages.

How to Access

  1. Navigate to Teams from the main menu
  2. Click on a specific team to view details
  3. Look for the Activity tab or section

What You'll See

Team-specific activities filtered to show only:

  • Team member additions and removals
  • Team role changes
  • Team-related project activities
  • Team settings updates
  • Actions performed within the team context
Team Context

Team activities show all actions related to that team, including activities from team members across different projects.

Viewing Workspace Activities

Monitor workspace-level activities from workspace settings.

How to Access

  1. Navigate to Workspaces from the main menu
  2. Select a specific workspace
  3. Go to the Settings or Activity tab

What You'll See

Workspace-level activities including:

  • Workspace creation and updates
  • Member invitations and access changes
  • Workspace-wide permission updates
  • Billing and subscription changes

Activity Icons

Each activity category has a distinct icon and color:

Status Indicators

Success (Default):

  • No special indicator
  • Action completed successfully
  • Standard colored category dot

Failed (Red):

  • Red "Failed" badge
  • Red status dot
  • Indicates the action didn't complete

Suspicious (Orange Alert):

  • Orange warning badge with "!"
  • Indicates potentially suspicious activity
  • Requires security review

Refresh Controls

Automatic Refresh:

  • Home page: Every 60 seconds
  • Activity page: Every 30 seconds
  • Visual spinner during refresh

Manual Refresh:

  • Click the Refresh button in the activity feed header
  • Keyboard shortcut: F5 or Ctrl/Cmd + R

Self-Actions

When you perform an action, it's described as:

  • "You created team 'Engineering'"
  • "You updated workspace settings"
  • Makes it easy to track your own activities

Actions by Others

When someone else performs an action:

  • "Alice created project 'Mobile App'"
  • "Bob added Carol to team 'Design'"
  • Clear attribution to the acting user

Actions Affecting You

When an action affects you:

  • "Alice added you to team 'Marketing'"
  • "Bob assigned you as project owner"
  • "you" is used to make it personal

Mobile Display

On mobile devices, activity feeds are optimized for smaller screens:

  • Compact cards: Essential information only
  • Swipe to refresh: Pull down to refresh
  • Tap to expand: Tap an activity for full details
  • Truncated badges: Abbreviated workspace/team names
